Travel

Before accepting a place at Reigate, students should investigate the time and cost involved with travelling to and from College.

For information about public transport links to the College, please see www.surreycc.gov.uk.  Surrey County Council's student fare card scheme is for students aged between 16 and 18 who live in the administrative county of Surrey.  It allows travel on buses or trains at reduced rates for journeys to and from College.  It must be applied for online.  Five additional train stations have been added to the scheme for the 2014/15 academic year.

16 – 18 year olds who DO NOT live in the administrative area of Surrey can purchase child rate tickets if they have a Southdown student fare card. Please visit the Southdown PSV Ltd website to find out more and download an application form.

It is recommended that students travelling from the London Borough of Sutton look into the available bus and train services.  Here are some examples:

Train: Departs Sutton 7.36, change at Dorking/Deepdene.  Arrives Reigate 8.23
Bus: Departs Sutton 7.22.  Arrives Reigate 8.15.  Route: Sutton/Belmont/Tattenham Corner (Beacon School)/Tadworth/Reigate

Bus timetables can be found at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/buses-and-trains/bus-timetables/redhill,-horley-and-east-surrey-bus-timetables, including the updated timetable for the 357 bus.  Please note that there are some changes to local bus services which took effect from August 2015.

Train information can be found at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/buses-and-trains/trains

Due to the limited amount of parking available, there is NO student parking at the College.

As explained above, the vast majority of students will not get any financial help with their travel expenses unless they can prove a) severe financial hardship and b) that Reigate College is their nearest course provider. Please contact the Attendance and Bursary Officer, lynette.callue@reigate.ac.uk, for further information.
