Alum Hollie Fernando wins top National Portrait Gallery commission prize

Huge congratulations to Reigate College alum Hollie Fernando for winning the National Portrait Gallery’s Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Commission Prize and £8000 in prize money. Hollie’s passion for photography took off in the darkroom at Reigate College and she hasn’t looked back since, shooting for global brands and capturing famous faces from Jodie Comer and Felicity Jones to music duo Wet Leg.

Hollie’s winning image Boss Morris, which features an all-female Morris dancing troop from Stroud, will now sit as part of the Gallery’s Collection. Our Lower Sixth Photography students are set to visit the exhibition on November 14 and Hollie plans to deliver a talk at the College in the Spring.
