Building on September’s Apprenticeship and Employment launch event, January saw around 400 Upper Sixth students benefit from three consecutive weeks of interactive virtual workshops.
Delivered by Uptree, Pfizer UK, Cogent Skills and Space & Time the sessions were designed to improve access to industry advice and guidance for students looking to secure an apprenticeship or college leaver role.
Uptree kicked things off with a session on interview techniques followed a week later by Pfizer/Cogent Skills, who focused on how to navigate application processes. The third week, courtesy of Space & Time, looked at in-house training for college leavers in digital media.
Director of Progression Ellen Walkinshaw said, “Thank you to our industry partners for supporting our work in this way. Never ones to sit still, we now look forward to celebrating National Apprenticeship Week (5-11 February) across the whole College.
“The Week will see the launch of a newly developed SharePoint area to act as a one-stop-shop for apprenticeship information; resources and links to aid our students’ search next week and beyond.”
