German is still a leading language of Science, Literature, Art, Philosophy and History.

If students want to become a key player in the 21st Century, learning German will give them the edge they need. Remember: 100 million people worldwide communicate in German! With knowledge of German, students will improve their employment opportunities – Germany has the largest economy in the European Union and the third largest in the world.

Possessing strong German language skills will be a valuable asset to offer any future employer. Students studying German will develop more confidence in their spoken skills, benefiting from small class sizes and language sessions with a Foreign Language Assistant. Students will have plenty of opportunities to practise listening in the language laboratory and will learn how to write accurately and expand their vocabulary. All German students have the opportunity to take part in an exchange trip or study trip to Germany.
