Have you ever asked yourself the following questions?

  • What makes the sky blue, sunsets red and rainbows multicoloured?

  • Can electrons be in two places at once – and if they can, why can’t we?

  • How do CD and DVD players and PCs and iPods work?

In A level Physics students will study the general rules which underlie all of Science. There are surprisingly few basic rules, but together they govern the behaviour of everything that is physical.

Our aim is to train our students to recognise, interpret and apply these principles clearly and creatively in a variety of different contexts. Physics is a practical subject: students will have the chance to experiment, observe and gain confidence in handling technical equipment.
