Details

6.30pm, Dramatic Arts Centre.

Join us in the intimate surroundings of the College’s Dramatic Arts Centre for the Cross-College Show “Fen” – a 1983 play by Caryl Churchill that takes place in England’s swamp or “fen” country and focuses on a gang of women landworkers.

The play looks at their work situation and their private lives and dreams, and follows the story of Val, who leaves her husband and children to live with a farm worker, Frank.

Other characters include Angela, the outsider who torments her stepdaughter Becky; Alice, who has turned to religion; Nell, who tries to assert her rights against the farmer; Shirley, who prides herself on keeping going. A community with strong links with the past but living in a present where the land is owned by multinationals.

It is not possible to reserve specific seats for this event. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so please arrive from 30 mins before the start. Please select a Wheelchair access ticket, should this be required.

Drivers should park in the Rushworth Road car park. Postcode for sat nav users RH2 0QF.
