The Post

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking teacher to lead the Economics Department. The successful applicant will be required to teach A Level Economics. However, the ability to offer A Level Business would be an advantage.

The full-time, permanent post is available from 1 September 2019.

Our ideal person will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in delivering the highest standards and achieving outstanding results. The post holder must be confident in the use of Information Technology in all aspects of their work.

The post would suit an experienced Head of Department or someone looking for their first Head of Department role.

The Department

The Department is housed in the Priory Building, in recently constructed classrooms. The Classrooms are fully equipped with data projectors, whiteboards and Wi-Fi. The Department has access to mobile learning devices to further enhance learning.

The Department teaches in a collaborative style, with all staff contributing to centralised resource packs. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Economics, Mathematics and Business Management.

The Department has undergone significant growth over the past few years, reflecting the increased demand for the subject. The Department has three other members of teaching staff who work closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials.

Courses

The Department offers A Level Economics on the AQA specification. The course grades are consistently high with 76.5% of students achieving A*-B grades last year (92.9% A*-C) with a 99% pass rate.

Salary

The salary for this post is up to £43,620 per annum (FTE).
