Role: College Administrator (Careers)

Duration: Permanent, part-time.

Salary: The starting salary for this post is £11,116 (£23,641 FTE), progressing up to £11,334.17 (£24,105 FTE).

The Post

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking College Administrator to work in the Careers Department. The post holder will be required to support the work of the Department in answering student and parental queries, processing UCAS application forms, assisting the Work Experience Coordinator and coordinating progression activities for students.

The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time basis (47.02%). The post holder will be required to work term-time only for 20 hours per week over four or five days of the week (with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day).

It is anticipated that the post holder will spend the majority of their time working specifically in the Careers area, but a flexible approach to working will be required according to demand and the time in the academic year.

The post requires commitment and excellent organisational skills. Previous experience of working within a careers or work experience environment is desirable, but not essential. The post holder will spend a significant amount of the working day in a busy office environment and will be required to handle phone calls from parents and interested parties, as well as face-to-face interactions with students.

The post carries an expectation for some occasional mandatory evening activities (Open Evenings and Careers events). However, there are numerous optional opportunities for evening work (Interview Evenings for Students) should the post holder be interested in them for additional remuneration.

The Department

The Department is housed in a specially designed area of the Enhancement Building, which includes an open plan area for discussion with students, a breakout area and a careers office for one-to-one interviews with students. The Department also has access to a lecture space for visiting speakers.

The post holder will work closely with the well-established Department of four other staff, who work closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner.

Salary

The starting salary for this post is £11,116 (£23,641 FTE), progressing up to £11,334.17 (£24,105 FTE).
