Role: Netball Coach

Duration: 2 hours per week in the autumn and spring terms

Salary: £25.50 per hour

The Post

The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, hardworking, and inspirational Coach for the College’s two Women’s Netball Teams. The successful applicant will be required to develop the skills and abilities of the female students (16-19 years) in netball and train and coach them for competitive matches.

The post holder will be self-employed and will invoice the College for their time. The Coach must hold a minimum of a Level 2 England Netball coaching qualification and have public liability insurance to the value of £5,000,000 and ensure that insurance covers you specifically for Netball.

The post is available from September 2024 and the core hours of work are from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Wednesdays, although timings can vary according to fixtures. The post holder will be required to work term time only, whilst College Team Sports take place, which is usually for 10 weeks in each of the Autumn and Spring Terms.

Previous experience of working with teenagers is desirable, but not essential. Applicants should hold a full UK Driving License and be willing to drive a minibus to away fixtures (training can be given).

The post requires commitment and flexibility in the approach to work due to the availability of fixtures, training, and the weather.

All students taking part in competitive sport are free on Wednesday afternoons and are expected to take part in trials, training, competitions, friendlies, and other fixtures.

The Women’s Netball Team is well established at the College and has continued to grow in popularity.  We work closely with College’s across Surrey to ensure a healthy and fair competition. The College has two outdoor and one indoor netball courts on site.

Rate of Pay

The rate of pay for invoice is £25.50 per hour.

Applicants are asked to complete and return the enclosed application form to the Personnel Department by email to as soon as possible, but no later than 9.00am on Monday 24 June 2024.

When completing their application, candidates are asked to indicate:

  • Any experience they have of working as a Netball Coach
  • Any experience they have of working with young adults (16-19)
  • Any qualifications they have relating to netball coaching
  • Any qualifications they have relating to first aid
  • Whether or not they have a full UK diving license
  • Whether or not they currently hold an Enhanced DBS Check and if so, whether they are subscribed to the annual Update Service
  • Any other relevant experience relating to the post
