Please note in addition to the courses listed above, Dan also did Drama & Theatre Studies A Level which has now been replaced by BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts (Acting).
Why did you choose Reigate College?
I guess there were a few reasons: embracing the freedom that College life offers, meeting new interesting people, the reputation of the College and I was just keen to have a change of scene.
What have you enjoyed most about your courses?
The freedom I’ve had to go as in-depth into my texts as I like. For example, I’ve done everything from reading Coleridge to watching Charlie Kaufman films to help get to grips with my English texts.
How have you found the teaching?
My teachers have been exceptional – really good speakers, but great listeners too.
We’re treated like fully complex human beings and they seem to genuinely care for our well-being and engagement with the subject.
What do you like most about being a student at College?
In school, I wasn’t considered academic, but I’d always been good at the few subjects I enjoyed.
My teachers showed me what I’m capable of. I feel like my individuality and ideas have been given room to blossom.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to continue studying English Literature at Durham University, whilst performing in plays in my spare time. From there I hope to lead some form of artistic life – which I’m very excited about.
