Why did you choose Reigate College?
My priority was to find a college with a good Dance course, and lots of opportunities to perform. I was impressed by the facilities and thought being in a town that’s full of shops and cafes would add to my Sixth Form experience.
How and why did you decide which subjects to study?
I’ve danced since a young age, so BTEC Dance was an obvious choice for me. I chose German because I wanted to be fluent in another language, and History because I enjoyed it at secondary school.
Tell us about any College Enrichment activities you’ve been involved in
I’ve performed in the College Dance shows, where I had the opportunity to choreograph my own dances. I also took part in the Cross-College Musical Theatre production of Grease, where I was able to express myself as both a performer and choreographer.
What do you like most about being a student at Reigate College?
I like the relationships I’ve been able to build with my teachers, who’ve encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I also like being treated more as an adult rather than a child.
What’s your plan for when you leave College?
I’ve been offered a place at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance to study for a BA in Contemporary Dance. Further on, I’d like to do a Masters in Dance Choreography, establish my own Dance company and create large scale choreographic works.
