Why did you choose Reigate College?
I chose Reigate College because it offered the subjects I wanted to study and I liked the fact that it gave me the option to combine A Levels with a BTEC. The freedom College gave me compared to secondary school also really appealed to me.
How and why did you decide which subjects to study?
I chose Maths and French because I enjoyed them at GCSE. Sport has always been a passion of mine and I plan to pursue a career in the Sports industry, which is why I decided to study Sport at College.
I chose BTEC Sport over PE A Level as I felt I would learn a wider range of skills that are more relevant to Sports Performance Analysis – the area I would ideally love to work in, in the future.
What have you enjoyed most about your courses?
I love the fact that my courses are really varied and they have each taught me different skills that will be useful to me in the future. I really enjoy the combination of two A Levels with a BTEC. The greater emphasis on coursework, rather than exams, in BTEC Sport means I have less exams to sit at the end of the Upper Sixth. This means I can focus more on doing as well as I can in the exams for French and Maths.
What’s your plan for when you leave College?
I hope to study Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Portsmouth. My second choice is to study Sports Performance Analysis at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
