How did you find the move from school to College?
I found it hard at first as I was the only one who came from my school and the routines I was used to at school were very different. My old school had 82 pupils, so the size of the College was daunting at first, but the College does so much to ensure you settle in quickly.
Is there a member of staff who’s gone the extra mile to help you?
It’s impossible to single out one individual as all my teachers and support staff have done everything to help me, from one-to-one support, to setting exams questions and helping me with my university applications.
Have you been involved in any extracurricular activities?
I’ve been a rep for the Students’ Union and have been particularly involved in charity fundraising. As well as that, I’ve played Basketball at College which has helped my fitness and is good for winding down. I’ve also completed my Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award.
How have you benefited from studying at College?
It’s given me the chance to flourish in my subjects. The proactive approach I’ve taken to learning since I started has not only improved my grades but has bettered me as a person.
What are you plans for the future?
I’m holding offers to study Geography at university.
