The Post

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking teacher to join the Mathematics Department. The successful applicant will be required to teach A Level and GCSE Mathematics. However, the ability to offer A Level Further Mathematics would be an advantage.

The post is available from 1 September 2019 on a part-time basis (between 38.10% - 57.14% FTE).

Our ideal person will be able to demonstrate a track record of success in delivering the highest standards and achieving outstanding results. The post holder must be confident in the use of Information Technology in all aspects of their work.  

The post would equally suit an experienced teacher or newly qualified teacher.

The Department

The Department is housed in the County Building, along with other STEM subjects. Classrooms are fully equipped with data projectors and roller white boards.

The Department teaches in a collaborative style, with all staff contributing to centralised resource packs. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Mathematics, Engineering and Economics.

The Department is one of the largest in the College with twelve current members of teaching staff. The Department works closely as a team in a friendly and co-operative manner. Strong emphasis is given to mutual support by the exchange of ideas and materials.


The Department offers A Level Mathematics, A Level Further Mathematics and GCSE Mathematics (resit). In addition, students are prepared for the STEP and regularly enter students for the UK Math’s Challenge.


The salary for this post is up to £40,092 per annum (FTE).
