The College is seeking to appoint a permanent, part-time qualified, enthusiastic and energetic teacher of Pyschology.

The Psychology department is one of the largest departments in the College with well over 350 students following the subject to A Level. Its is situated in a designated teaching area with IT facilities and has success rates well above the national average. The department is graded as outstanding and follows the Edexcel syllabus.

The department is very supportive, both of staff and students who are encouraged to undertake work within the department if they wish to further their studies or need extra support. This has resulted in a good retention rate and a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

This post is suitable for both experienced teachers or newly qualified teachers. Above all, we are seeking someone with an excellent knowledge of Psychology and the ability to make the subject come alive for our students. The person apointed must be confident in the use of Information Technology in all aspects of their work.

A permanent, part-time post is available from the 1st September 2018. The part-time fraction is between 33.33% (7 periods per week) and 61.90% (13 periods per week). The full-time equivalent salary is up to £39,695 per annum (Point PSP3), including local allowance and professional standards payment, where applicable.

Candidates are asked to complete the Teachers application form and return it to the Personnel Department no later than 9.00 am on Monday 21 May 2018.

When completing their application, candidates are asked to indicate their results (A*-B grades, retention, value added), as well as particular strengths and experiences that they would bring to the post and more generally to College life outside their teaching commitment.
