School Direct

Reigate College is part of the Warwick Partnership for School Direct. This focus on education and the support of new teachers, including NQTs, PGCE placement students and trainee Teachers, has always been paramount at the College. The School Direct provision enhances the existing Initial Teacher Training provision at the College with the well established and successful Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Diploma in Education and Training (DET) awarded by Canterbury Christ Church University.
 
Applications for School Direct places in September 2017 are welcomed now in:

  • Physics
  • Computing
  • Business Studies
  • Design Technology
  • Maths
  • Economics
  • Design and Technology (Engineering)
 
Applicants must have a relevant degree and must be able to demonstrate a commitment to a career in teaching. These posts are full-time, fixed term until July 2018. It is important to note that the College is unable to guarantee you any employment once your training is complete.

Applications can be submitted through UCAS from 18th October 2016.  You will need to register with UCAS on their website https://www.ucas.com/ucas/teacher-training/ucas-teacher-training-apply-and-track to access the application.
 
Please note: The Lead School for the Reigate College’s School Direct places is The Warwick Partnership. You will need to search under The Warwick Partnership and use the drop-down menu to identify Reigate College.
 
Formal applications are made on the UCAS website. The Apply 1 round opens on 18th October 2016. You can select 3 choices at the same time for any route into teaching. Once your application is submitted, the University and us have 40 working days to make a decision and inform you. Reigate College will call you for interview so be prepared to have 3 full days of interviews in this 40 day period. You then have 10 days to make a decision whether to accept one of the offers or not.
 
If you do not get a place in Apply 1 or you declined your offers, you can then apply in the Apply 2 round which starts on 9th November 2016. In Apply 2 you can make an unlimited number of choices, but only one at a time.
