A Level Film Studies students headed to the Design Museum on 21 January for the Wes Anderson Archives exhibition – a self-guided tour of over 700 items from the filmmaker and director’s personal archives, documenting his film career to date.
The exhibition included a room dedicated to the 2012 film Moonrise Kingdom – one of the A Level course films, while the whole exhibition highlights Anderson’s particular aesthetic and ways of working, including his regular collaboration with writers, such as Noah Baumbach and Roman Coppola, and actors such as Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Edward Norton and Willem Dafoe.
Jon O’Hara one of the course leaders for A level Film Studies said, “Students seemed to love the exhibition, which promoted a great deal of photos and discussion about things they’d discovered. You know you’re onto a winner when students are taking longer to go around than you are! It was very satisfying to see them so engaged and appreciative of the experience.”
