Exploring legal life in local government

The Town Hall is one of Reigate College’s nearest neighbours and on 28 January, 43 Lower Sixth Law students stepped inside the historic building to explore the diversity of legal careers on offer.

Head of Law Greg Saunders-Griffin said, “Visits like this play an important role in broadening our students’ perspective and show just how many options are out there.

“In-house legal departments in local government span a host of specialisms including Property and Planning, Litigation and Prosecution, Contract and Procurement, Governance, and Court work. Our students came away with much better understanding of what legal life in the public sector looks like.”

Huge thanks to Legal Services Manager Agnes Krofah and all her colleagues at Reigate and Banstead Borough Council for giving our students such a valuable first-hand insight as they think about their future careers.
