Equality and Community Day 2025

Thanks to everyone involved in this year’s Equality and Community Day.   £1,146 was raised for Brooklands School in Reigate to cover the cost of an accessible sandpit for use by all their pupils.

The day was split into two parts:

Tutor activities were based around the Equality Act 2010 and looked at unconscious bias, human rights and the importance of community, culminating with all tutor groups producing a poster promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at the College.

Some more relaxed activities, that benefitted from the beautiful sunshine, were spear-headed by Wendy Gregory (Community Coordinator) and the College’s SU: live music courtesy of College bands, face-painting, henna, table tennis, giant Jenga, inflatable basketball, a staff versus student Netball match and tug-of-war, cooling ice lollies and raffle, with a fabulous BBQ provided by our top notch team of College caterers.

Susy Radio provided a brilliant live podcast – a fantastic addition to the day. Our thanks to them for joining us and we hope to welcome them back soon!

And finally, but by no means least, students had the chance to visit stalls made up of the various agencies and charities the College supports during the year: East Surrey Domestic Abuse Service (ESDAS), YMCA, Sexual Health, Papyrus, Catch 22, Pride Crawley and Reigate &  Banstead Community Officers.
