Students considering applying to Oxford or Cambridge are given additional support outside regular Aspire sessions in the Spring and Summer Terms of their Lower Sixth.

They are then invited to join the Upper Sixth Oxbridge Tutorial Pathway that’s designed to support them through the rigorous selection process.

This targeted support, that’s finely tuned each year, results in an impressive number of  Reigate College students taking up places at Oxford or Cambridge universities each year – including first generation to go to university and students from other widening participation backgrounds.

Who is the Oxbridge Pathway open to?

Students will be told about the Oxbridge Pathway during their Aspire lessons in the Autumn Term of the Lower Sixth. Any students considering making an application to Oxford or Cambridge who are on track to achieve A* and A grades and are studying an A Level programme are encouraged to sign up for the Oxbridge Pathway.

When does it start?

The Oxbridge Pathway starts in January of the Lower Sixth and runs for the rest of the academic year. Students can then opt to join the Oxbridge Upper Sixth Tutorial Pathway if they have decided to apply and have been predicted A* and A grades.

What form does the Oxbridge Pathway take?

In the Lower Sixth the pathway covers deciding to make an application, preparing for admissions tests, personal statement writing and choosing a college. The Upper Sixth Oxbridge Tutorial Pathway supports students finalising their personal statements, submitting other forms and written work that may be required, further admissions test preparation and preparing for interviews. Students invited to interview can attend an interview preparation morning which is run in conjunction with Esher College.
