Travel

Before accepting a place at Reigate, students should investigate the time and cost involved with travelling to and from College.

Students who live within the Administrative County of Surrey

For information about public transport links to the College, please see www.surreycc.gov.uk.  Surrey County Council's student fare card scheme is for students aged between 16 and 18 who live in the administrative county of Surrey.  It allows travel on buses or trains at reduced rates for journeys to and from College.  It must be applied for online.

Local bus timetables can be found at https://www.surreycc.gov.uk.  Please note changes to timetables for local buses came into effect from 1 June 2019 including the 357, the 324 and the 622 buses.

Train information can be found at www.surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/buses-and-trains/trains

Students who live outside the Administrative County of Surrey

16 – 18 year olds who DO NOT live in the administrative area of Surrey can purchase child rate bus tickets if they have a Southdown buses student fare card. Please visit the Southdown Buses website to find out more.  Assistance with travel expenses for students above school leaving age is a discretionary matter for Local Education Authorities. Students should contact their local authority for more details.  Students should also consider looking at the Oyster Card system which has now been extended to Redhill Train Station.

Due to the limited amount of parking available, there is NO student parking at the College.

As explained above, the vast majority of students will not get any financial help with their travel expenses unless they can prove a) severe financial hardship and b) that Reigate College is their nearest course provider.

Please note forms are not available from College. They must be downloaded from the above websites.  IMPORTANT: Application forms for student bus and train passes will only be available after 1 August 2019.
