Inspiring the next generation of Women in STEM!

A massive thank you to all our fantastic speakers who helped make our Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) applicants’ event such a huge success!

On Wednesday 12 November, around 75 young women who’ve applied to study combinations of Maths, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science at Reigate College from September 2026 had the opportunity to hear from inspiring women working across the STEM industries.

Simon King, Head of Maths and Women in STEM Coordinator said, “We have run this event for five years now and it’s always amazing to see the number of young women interested in studying STEM increasing year-on-year. With the overall landscape of the STEM degrees and workforce still predominantly male, it’s encouraging to see the influence that our student panel and speakers have on the future of Women in STEM”.

Our brilliant speaker panel featured Nicky Robinson, Head of Physics at Reigate College; Holly Tovey, Principal Statistician at The Institute of Cancer Research; former student Riana Islam, now Associate at Keystone AI; and former student Som E-Agwuegbo, Software Engineer at Dojo.

A huge shout-out also to our amazing student panel – Zita, Matilda, Amy, Mariya and Aiza – who generously shared their experiences and chatted with applicants about their courses and future ambitions.

Thank you all for helping to inspire the next generation of women in STEM!
