It’s been a busy term for Travel & Tourism students.
On 25 September around 20 Upper Sixth students visited London’s Olympic Park as part of the ‘Events, Conferences and Exhibitions’ unit of their course. They benefited from a guided tour of the site of the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games and learnt how sustainability and the environment are still very much a driving force, with respect to on-going developments.
On 16 October around 30 Lower Sixth students visited Madame Tussauds to help them with their Unit 1 exam unit, The World of Travel & Tourism, specifically the topics of ‘Visitor Attractions’ and ‘Technology in Travel & Tourism’. The visit gave students the chance to experience first-hand how technology is transforming the visitor experience. As well as exploring three floors of lifelike, hand-built celebrity figures, they were also able to experience the Marvel Universe 4D cinema with its wind-chilling, water-soaking and face-flinching special effects!
