Sixty prospective A Level Law students and their parents were invited to a Law event last night as part of the College’s programme of Applicant Events for Year 11 students.
After an introduction from the College’s Head of Progression Ellen Walkinshaw, guests had the opportunity to hear from lead speaker Anne Rodell, Associate Professor at the University of Law, with whom the College has a partnership agreement. She gave a very helpful overview of careers in Law and the qualifications required.
As part of the evening, the College was delighted to welcome back former student Jessica Brittain who is now a trainee solicitor at legal firm Edwin Coe, LLP. Having left Reigate College in 2012, Jessica read Law at the University of Birmingham and did her LPC at the University of Law. She spoke about her experience of studying and working in Law and inspired students with her tips for success.
The students also had the opportunity to take part in an interactive classroom session where they could meet staff and students.
Feedback showed the event was incredibly well received by parents and students alike.
Reigate College offers both A Level and BTEC Level 3 Law and has a strong tradition of students being accepted to read Law at university.
