Pistols (and daggers!) at dawn at the Globe

Forty-four English Language and Literature students were transported to Verona by way of the Wild West at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre for a spirited – and entertaining – production of Romeo and Juliet on June 5.

English teacher Chloe Valbuena said, “For many of our students, it was their first time at the Globe seeing a production. They loved the intimacy of the experience being in the courtyard standing area and how the actors interacted with the crowd. This particular production really leaned into the comedic elements of the play, which we very much enjoyed.”

Huge thanks to Chloe and her English team colleagues as well as our Trips department for giving our students such a great opportunity to engage with a wider range of texts by William Shakespeare, a core playwright on the A Level syllabus.
