The Post
The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Design Technology Technician to join the College’s Product Design and Engineering Department. The successful applicant will be required to work with staff and students on the courses to support practical elements of learning in the workshop, as well as maintain equipment and high standards of health and safety.
The post is available on a permanent, part-time basis. The post holder will be required to work term-time only (39 weeks per year) from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (with 45 minutes unpaid lunchbreak) (85.62%).
Previous experience of working with teenagers is desirable, but not essential. The post holder will spend a significant amount of the working day interacting with students, so the ability to feel confident in the presence of and communicating with young adults is essential. The role also requires experience of working with power tools and resistant materials.
The post requires commitment and flexibility in the approach to work, with the ability to remain calm at all times. Occasional evening work is required for which time off in lieu will be given.
Salary
The salary for this post is from £23,804.07 to £24,804.11 per annum (FTE £27,802 to £28,970).
