This year’s programme of Events for Applicants was brilliantly kicked off via a live Zoom Webinar on Tuesday 24 November, with an insightful lecture by the College’s Head of Politics Nick de Souza, on the subject of ‘Is democracy about to die?’
The talk was then followed by an excellent live Zoom debate between four of the College’s Upper Sixth A Level Politics students. All attendees were given the opportunity to vote on their stance at the end of the session. And the result? 51% of participants said they believed democracy is about to die. Time will tell!

The evening was a great opportunity for Year 11 students to see first-hand what it’s like to study Politics at Reigate College. In 2020 80% of A Level Politics students at Reigate College achieved a high grade of A*-B – find out more about Politics at Reigate College.
A special thank you to the current A Level Politics students who took part in this event; Nayan Patel, Emily Tilford-Carey, Leila Treacher and Etienne Baker.
