Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award

57 students took part in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, practice expedition during the Easter holidays, in the Hope Valley in the Peak District.

Despite a wet and muddy first day, the weather was great overall and students got to see sights such as Mam Tor and Bamford Edge, while exploring different aspects of the Valley such as the caves and caverns.

The five day expedition is designed to prepare students for the final qualifying expedition, that will take place in July in Bannau Brycheiniog (formally known as the Brecon Beacons).

Congratulations to all the students who completed the expedition and our thanks to the staff who supported them over the five days.
