Congratulations to Upper Sixth Fine Art, Textiles and Politics student Eduardo N. who has secured a coveted place on the National Portrait Gallery’s (NPG) LAB, a highly sought after creative development programme for young people aged 16–21.

Over the course of 10 months, he is set to gain rare, behind the scenes access to one of the UK’s leading cultural institutions and develop new skills and experience that will help him to thrive in the creative sector.

Eduardo said, “I’ll be working directly with the Gallery team and professional artists as well as the other young creatives who are on the programme. I’m keen to do an Art Foundation after College, so the LAB will not only help to shape my practice but help me think about where I want to focus and develop my work.”

“I’m particularly excited about being part of the team that plans and delivers Youth ‘Late’, a large scale after hours event featuring live music, performances, workshops and talks.”

Hannah Wiggins, Head of Art and Design, commented, “Securing a place on NPG LAB is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Eduardo for successfully interviewing for this dynamic programme. We look forward to seeing the creativity, experience and inspiration that he brings back to the College community.”
