Equestrian success for Reigate College

Anne-Marie Cobb and her horse, Thomas

Well done to those students who have represented Reigate College in National Schools’ Equestrian Association (NSEA) events.

The team had a brilliant start to the academic year at the NSEA County Challenge Qualifier Show Jumping held at Coombeland on 28th October 2018. The College entered a team of Hannah Ingham, Georgia Claire, Tash McMillan and Luke Townsend who all jumped clear rounds to put them in the winning position.

Lower Sixth student Anne-Marie Cobb competed in the 90cm Show Jumping competition on her horse Thomas at NSEA Show Jumping Qualifier at Felbridge on 3rd November 2018. She and Thomas jumped a double clear to finish in an impressive ninth place out of 106 competitors.

At the NSEA Arena Eventing on Sunday 2nd December, Phoebe Auger jumped a faultless clear round, with Lucy Kitching, Georgia Clare, Hannah Ingham and Luke Townsend also jumping good rounds to mean the team finished with only eight faults. They came second in the metre class, just being pipped to first place by time, with Lucy finishing fifth individually.

Their performance means the team qualified for the Championships to be held at Hickstead in May, for which we wish them every success.
