The Post
The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated teacher to join the highly successful Computer Science and Computing Department.
The post is available from 24 August 2026 on a permanent, part-time basis (38.10% to 57.14%). The post would equally suit an experienced or Early Careers Teacher (ECT). For ECTs, a full programme of training and development will be provided.
All new members of staff receive mentors to help them settle into the College. This post provides an exciting opportunity for those wishing to specialise in sixth form education. Candidates who have little or no experience teaching in post-16 are still encouraged to apply, as the Department can support those wishing to make the transition to sixth form teaching.
The Department
The Department is housed in specialist facilities in the Priory Building. The team consists of three other members of teaching staff who work in a collaborative style, contributing to central teaching resources. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Computer Science, Computing, Game Design and Business.
Courses
The Department offers the following courses:
- A Level Computer Science
- Cambridge AAQ Computing: Application Development
The main programming language used for A Level Computer Science is Python.
Salary
The full-time salary for this post is up to £53,232 per annum.
The contact time for a full-time teacher is 21 hours per week (20 hours teaching and 1 hour Tutor). ECTs receive a 5% or 10% reduction on their timetable depending on whether they are a first or second year ECT.
