Lower Sixth students attended a fun-filled Community Afternoon on Tuesday 17th September.
The afternoon – aimed at helping students settle in and giving them the opportunity get to know their tutor group better – kicked off with a special tutorial session, followed by a barbecue lunch, inter-tutor quiz, and a series of team-building tasks and activities. There was also the chance to enjoy the bouncy castle, giant inflatables and outdoor games.
Making the transition from school to College can feel daunting at first, so the afternoon was part of the College’s commitment to make the process as seamless as possible. Students’ Union officers and members of staff, including Jo Driscoll, Director of Mental Health and Wellbeing, Claire Hassan, College Mentor, and Wendy Gregory, Community Officer, were on hand throughout the day to help with the settling-in process.
