Reigate College works in partnership with a number of local and national organisations to help students secure a valuable experience of the work place during the Lower Sixth year. This might be an insight day, work place visit, the opportunity to shadow an employer or employee, or a formal period of work experience.
Upper Sixth student and aspiring medic Jacob Foulsham undertook a period of work experience at Croydon Urgent Care Centre in July. He summed up his experience as follows: “It was an excellent insight into the daily life of people working in a hospital. I learnt lots about what it takes to be a doctor and was provided with lots of useful advice I can take with me into my career.”
Our thanks goes to all those who offered workplace experiences this year, including:
• Allen & Overy
• Canon
• Croydon Urgent Care Centre
• KPMG
• Morrisons Solicitors
• Mullard Space Science Lab
• Nestlé
• Psyon
• Smallfield GP
• Surrey Police
• Thermo Fisher
• UK Gas Technologies Ltd
The College would welcome hearing from anyone who could offer students similar opportunities of a workplace experience. Please contact Work Experience to find out more.
