On Thursday 16 December 68 Reigate College students took part in Operating Theatre Live, held in the College’s Sports Centre. 

Liz Sanders, Head of the College’s MVD Programme explained, “Operating Theatre Live is a day-long immersive experience designed for aspiring Medics, Vets, Dentists, Biologists and Health and Social Care students.  It gives participants the opportunity to take on the role of a trauma doctor and dissect real specimens, led by an experienced human anatomist.”  

She added, “As well as giving students the chance to experience real surgery, they also learn more about how organs function, and boost their understanding of how the human body works. It’s also a great way for prospective medics to find out how squeamish they are!”
