RAFTAs 2025

The Reigate College Film and Media Department’s RAFTA awards for 2025 were held on the 7th of May in the Rispoli Theatre.  Now in their seventh year, tickets sold-out in just one week and are seen as a celebration of our students’ creativity, talent, and cinematic flair. As guests arrived, they were greeted not just by the flashes of faux paparazzi, but by the lilting tunes played by pianistic Lewis Palmer.

The event, a fusion of glamour and artistic talent, gave the students a chance to dress up in their finery and celebrate their time at the College.

Once inside the auditorium, Principal Nick Clark welcomed the budding filmmakers and media minds and praised them on their exceptional hard work over the last two years at the College.

Gleaming gold statuettes were awarded in key categories, from Best Director and Best Sound Design to Best Collaboration of a Production group and Outstanding Mise en scene. (See complete list of nominations and winners).

Interval entertainment was from the powerful vocals of Lilly Dain and the infectious energy of The Lost Wanderers. Their musical set turned the mid-point into a celebration of its own, complete with spontaneous dancing and thunderous applause.

Making sure that everyone could be a part of the ceremony, the evening was streamed live, allowing both parents and students unable to attend in person, a chance to share in the excitement from home.

Huge thanks to all who were involved in the production: Charlotte Groves, Marko Raden and Yvonne McCoach. Ruby Waters theatrical, Sean Boothe Sound. Lower sixth student helpers: Nyle, Violet, Miranda, Polly, Naomi. And a big shout out to Vinnie and Phil from the premises team who were amazing.

Head of Department Stuart Coppard said; ‘We are delighted to showcase such creativity and professionalism from our Film and Media students. Each year seems to get better and better’.
