Despite some truly terrible weather yesterday and a number of cancellations as a result of the conditions, the College’s sports teams put on a strong performance. Here are some of the highlights:
- The Women’s Football team secured a 4-0 win against Richmond. The goal scorers were Megan Hunt, Amy Reader (x2) and Leisha Marsh, who scored an absolutely fantastic goal. There was excellent play from the whole team with a stand-out performance from Holly Royal in defence.
- The Men’s Third Football team also had a good game. At half time they were 3-1 down against Pulse Tomlinscote, but came back to draw the match 3-3. The scorers were Remell Bernard-Thompson, Callum Holder and Jack Treacher (penalty).
- Collyer’s proved a tough opponent for our Basketball and Netball teams and although the scores went against us, the matches were well fought. Emma Hill was player of the match for the Netball A team and Taea Scott for the B team who had an extremely close game, eventually conceding 26-25.
Well done to everyone involved and let’s hope for better weather next week.
