On 11 November, 22 uppers on the College’s BTEC Extended Diploma in Performing Arts course (3 A Level equivalent) took part in ‘TheatreCraft24’ at London’s prestigious Royal Opera House.
Zoe Dunkley, Head of Musical Theatre at the College said, “It’s an amazing event for anyone considering working in the industry, either backstage or front of house. Our students had the chance to take part in all sorts of things, from one-to-one career sessions, directing workshops and attending meetings with Disney and Nimax Theatres.”
“They also got to visit some of the West End’s most prestigious venues, including meeting the cast from The Devil Wears Prada, going backstage at the Lion King and learning about some of the technical aspects of set design for Back to the Future. It’s a brilliant way for them to make connections with a huge range of people working in the theatre industry.”
TheatreCraft24 enabled students to explore careers in: Lighting, Sound, Set Design & Construction, Automation, Props, Costume, Wigs, Hair & Make-Up, Stage Management, Writing, Directing, Producing, Casting and Promotion.
