On Tuesday 1 October 2024, the College took part in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge.
The competition is open to any student studying Maths or Further Maths in years 12 and 13 and is a 90 minute, non-calculator test that aims to stimulate mathematical problem solving. Taking part helps students’ university applications stand out, since participation indicates a high level of commitment to the subject.
Jacob Moon, Maths Teacher, who co-ordinates the College’s entries explains, “This year, the College saw a record 145 students participating in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge, with students receiving: 15 golds, 31 silvers, 67 bronzes and 31 certificates of participation. This was an excellent set of results, that were well above the average.”
