Nick de Souza, Head of Politics at Reigate College has just had an article on Kamala Harris published in Politics Review which coincides with the College’s celebration of Black History Month.
As the College is celebrating Black History Month this week, it seems fitting to give Kamala Harris some air time. Harris is standing as the Democratic Party’s nomination against Republican Donald Trump at the US elections on 5 November.
Nick writes: “Regardless of the outcome (of the US elections in November), her short campaign is nonetheless historic, and not just because Harris is the daughter of an Indian-born mother and a Jamaican-born father… (She is) a presidential candidate breaking all kinds of firsts and glass ceilings.”
“Kamala Harris studied law at Howard, a prominent black university, and went on to become district attorney, first for the city of San Francisco and then for the whole of California. This position meant that she was that state’s top law enforcer and prosecutor.”
“At the time of writing, Harris is on the final stretch of a remarkable campaign that has never stopped surprising us.”
