College Engineering students put theory into practice

This term the 26 Lower Sixth students who are doing the BTEC Level 3 in Engineering course, spent 6 weeks in the workshop completing their Unit 2 manufacturing task.

Students have been working in teams to produce a batch of engineering tools making use of the milling machine and lathe.

Teacher Thomas Jacobs said, “It’s great seeing students being able to put theory into practice. For many students this is when their learning suddenly begins to click”
