Congratulations to all the students who received their A Level results today.
Speaking earlier today, Principal of Reigate College, Nick Clark said, “The combination of our students’ hard work, dedication and commitment and the targeted support and development the College offers, has resulted in the vast majority, gaining places at their first-choice universities. It’s important to remember that for this cohort, this summer’s exams were the first public exams they will have sat, which added a further level of challenge.”
As is being widely reported, Ofqual, England’s exams regulator, has brought this year’s results back to pre-pandemic levels in England after a spike in 2020 and 2021 when grades were based on teachers’ predictions. Despite this, the College has once again bucked the trend and achieved results well above this year’s national averages and the 2019 grade profiles.
Ellen Walkinshaw, Director of Progression at the College shared the exciting news that:
- More than 100 students got at least 3 A or A* grades at A Level
- 7 Reigate College students have been accepted at either Oxford or Cambridge
- 18 students have had offers confirmed to study Medicine, Veterinary Science or Dentistry
Ellen went on to say, “It’s encouraging to see that the College’s specialist ‘Career Pathways’ tutorial programme is having an impact on the range of progression routes students are taking, including apprenticeships.”
See below a small cross-section of the variety of routes this year’s leavers are taking.
Take a look at who is going where, from students shown in photos.
