Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award expedition to the Brecon Beacons

Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award Expedition to the Brecon Beacons 2021

A massive well done to the 70 Upper Sixth students who completed their final Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award expedition to the Brecon Beacons (South Wales) during October half term (22 to 26 October).

Camping by night in the cold (and sometimes wet!), and laden with heavy packs by day, they walked various routes around the Brecon Beacons, en route to the highest peak of Pen Y Fan.

For most, the expedition is the toughest part of the award, and they can now look forward to completing the other sections  – volunteering, physical activity and skills – over the coming months.

A huge thanks to all the staff involved in supporting them.
