Lower Sixth student appointed High Sheriff’s Police Cadet

Congratulations to Lower Sixth student Natasha Clear who has been chosen to be the West Sussex High Sheriff’s police cadet for 2019-2020.

Natasha joined the Crawley Police Cadets in 2016 having always wanted to be a Police Officer, and she has since progressed through the three grades to become a Senior Cadet. During this time, she has gained an insight into issues such as drug abuse and missing persons as well as gaining key skills in leadership and teamwork.

She was encouraged to apply for the position of High Sheriff’s Police Cadet, for which she had to write a 300-word application. Following her successful selection she was invited to attend a special ceremony and will now accompany the High Sheriff to official events during the coming year. Her plan is to join the Police straight from College.

Natasha came to Reigate College because it was the only place offering her preferred choice of subjects: BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas in Law, Public Services and Sport. Despite being the only student to join from Holy Trinity Secondary School, she has made plenty of new friends and is fully involved in College life, taking part in Activities such as Karate and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. She said, “It was definitely the right decision to come.”
