Czarina

I enjoyed the social aspect of being a student at Reigate, there were loads of events and activities to get involved in. Also, my teachers were all really supportive.

During my studies I considered becoming a Nurse or joining an airline as cabin crew but deep down I always wanted to join the Army – it just took me a while to apply.

I’m part of the The Royal Logistic Corps which provides support to the Army, both in peacetime and on operations. From vehicle parts and tools, to ammunition, fuel, food and water, the RLC maintains the Army’s operational capability; providing the right kit to the right place, in the right condition, in the right order at the right time.

As a Driver Communications Specialist I help look after the Regiments’ communications equipment and set up systems for when we’re out on manoeuvres. We’re trained to use radio and digital communications systems to ensure soldiers can be in contact whenever they need to be. It’s a challenging and physically demanding role and I have to work hard on my fitness, but I enjoy the team work and the real sense of purpose.

For students thinking about an Army career, I’d say go for it, keep a positive attitude and believe in yourself.
