Why did you choose Reigate College?
I liked the idea of being at College as I saw it as a good stepping stone from secondary school to university. I was keen to learn new subjects, have better facilities and be taught by specialist teachers.
How and why did you decide which subjects to study?
I know I’m a practical learner so chose practical subjects. I also prefer coursework to exams, so being assessed via mainly assignments and coursework for two of my courses really appealed to me. My subjects are also a great fit for a career in Product Design.
Tell us about any College Enrichment activities you’ve been involved in
I did an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) as part of the Aspire Programme and chose the artifact module. Through that, I developed and designed an eco-friendly, recycled cardboard plant pot, to help tackle the plastic waste issue.
What do you like most about being a student at Reigate College?
I like the independence and the feeling of being on a university campus. Reigate town is really close by and has fantastic lunch spots for a bite to eat. Plus I like being taught by specialist teachers.
What’s your plan for when you leave College?
I plan to do a BSc in Design Engineering or Product Design Technology at either Bristol UWE or Bournemouth University.
