How did you find the move from school to College?

Moving has certainly helped me become more independent, but course teachers have always been there with support whenever I needed it. This provided a suitable balance whereby I could make as much progress as possible. I’m glad I made the switch.

What have you enjoyed most about your courses?

I’ve enjoyed the independent research elements particularly on my German course. For instance, being able to research and present on a topic of my choice as part of the speaking assessment, brought me even closer to university-style learning.

How have you found the teaching and support staff?

Teachers have been incredibly helpful for all my courses, as well as super-curricular activities which we got the chance to do in Pathways sessions (or even with odds and ends of lesson time). Extras like setting up mock interviews or going over essays at lunchtime were also a great help.

Tell us about any College Enrichment activities you’ve been involved

I was involved with the Aspire and Oxbridge programmes at college which both gave me a good base to work from in terms of academics beyond my A Levels. I found the extra practice for the Oxford admissions process especially helpful.

What’s your plan for when you leave College? 

I plan to study Philosophy, hopefully also spending a year abroad to both further my language skills and immerse myself in a new culture. After that maybe a Law conversion course or even academia.
