Why did you choose the Apprenticeship & Employment Pathway?

I was never that interested in going to university and always wanted to go down a different route to a lot of other people. Doing this pathway has helped me gain industry-based knowledge and complete more applications.

How has the support you’ve received helped you plan for success?

I’ve had practical, personalised help with my CV and what kind of information to include in my cover letters. Having the time and space to prepare for interviews at College has helped the entire process of applying – which is very time consuming – and allows me to keep track of my applications.

What are some of the most valuable skills you’ve developed?

Learning how to compose myself during an interview and demonstrate my individuality to help me stand out from other applicants.

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learnt about yourself on the Pathway?

That I have more resilience than I give myself credit for and can keep up with any deadlines and obstacles I face along the way.

What are your plans after College?

I hope to secure a Degree Apprenticeship or one at another level. I’ve applied to many different businesses, so do hope to be selected for one. If not, I aim to get into business and work my way up, gaining experience as I go.
