Why did you choose Reigate College?

The College provides a unique stepping stone between school and adulthood. I also knew it would be an environment where I would thrive academically and gain greater independence.

How did you find the move from school to College?

It was not as scary as I thought it would be!  Everything was new – the environment, the teachers, the independent learning. I saw this an advantage though because everyone was in the same situation, and so it was easy to make new friends.

Tell us about any additional support you’ve received

I started off on the Oxbridge Pathway and was directly supported by Ellen Walkinshaw when writing my personal statement and preparing for my Cambridge interview. 

Once I chose to pursue an apprenticeship route I benefitted from some great practical support, such as filling in applications and preparing for interviews.

What’s your plan for when you leave College? 

I’m pursuing an apprenticeship in Project Management with a sustainable aviation company. I’m excited at the prospect of being able to obtain a degree, while also gaining valuable work experience. The College has set me up to thrive – both in terms of being independent and knowing how to manage my time.
