Why did you choose Reigate College?

Reigate College offered the A-level choices that I needed to study to get into my desired university with much more freedom, both in individual expression and time management, that a normal sixth form is not able to offer. It was the perfect mix of academic focus and personal liberation.

How did you find the move from school to College?

I was very apprehensive about the change in environment and new responsibility, but I found the transition to be calming as I was finally treated as an adult by my teachers, which created a much more engaging, self-driven and supportive environment. Making friends was very easy as everyone is excited for this new start and wants to branch out, so everyone was very friendly.

Tell us about any College Enrichment activities you’ve been involved in

I was in Aspire which gave me a head start for Upper Sixth as they prepare you early for your university applications and brought me together with like-minded people with similar interests to myself. I did an EPQ on ‘To what extent would using all-female characters in the book ‘Lord of the Flies’ have created a better social and political environment on the island?’ which was a rewarding way to research a topic that greatly interested me, and had links with what I wanted to study in the future, making it a perfect thing to mention on my university application.

What’s your plan for when you leave College?

I want to study Psychology at university, with a particular focus on behavioural psychology as I currently want to work in animal behaviour in the future.
