What have you enjoyed most about your courses?
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed studying History, particularly historical events as they’ve helped me to better understand the world we live in today. I now also have a much better understanding of how to evaluate historical sources and interpretations.
I also really enjoyed the History trip which brought my coursework to life.
How have you found the teaching and support staff?
All my teachers have been excellent. Whenever I’ve been particularly interested in a topic, my teachers have pointed me towards materials to help me extend my learning around the subject.
I’ve also been directed to some interesting events , such as my insight day at Schroders, and talks about the Vietnam War and HS2.
Tell us about any College Enrichment activities you’ve been involved in
I’ve been involved in a fair few. As well as the Aspire Programme that involved doing an Extended Project Qualification, I’ve also taken part in the Debate Club (that’s good for seeing things from different perspectives and presenting these in formal debates), History Extra Club and the 5 Aside Football Club.
What do you like most about being a student at Reigate College?
The standard of teaching, the independence and the way the timetable is structured have enabled me to excel as a student and develop skills for further study.
What’s your plan for when you leave College?
I hope to study History, where I’d like to develop my skills in research and critical writing to help open up other opportunities.
